What is New Generation Glass?
In 1999, we were the first company to bring innovative solar-controlled glass exclusively to the UK. Since then, this technology has been refined, and our New Generation Glass (NGG) now sets the standard, reflecting heat and light back to its source to maintain perfect temperatures in your glass room all year round.
NGG delivers exceptional solar control and superior thermal performance, making it a class-leading product. Its self-cleaning technology also ensures minimal maintenance, perfectly suited to a room constructed entirely of glass.

NGG Features
Why Choose New Generation Glass?
Advanced solar control and thermal insulation for year-round comfort.
Solar Control
Reflects up to 86% of the sun’s heat in summer, keeping interiors cool without excessive air conditioning.
Thermal Insulation
U-value under 1.0 W/m²K retains warmth in winter, reducing heating bills and eliminating cold spots.
UV Protection
Blocks virtually all harmful UV rays, protecting furnishings, flooring and artwork from fading.
Self-Cleaning
Optional polymeric treatment creates a non-stick surface – rain washes away dirt, reducing maintenance.
Three Technologies in One
How It Works
Every pane combines warm-edge spacing, Low-E coatings and gas filling for ultimate performance.
Warm Edge Technology
Our spacer bar is up to 950 times less conductive than aluminium, raising internal edge temperatures and greatly improving insulation. This effectively prevents condensation and cold spots around the perimeter.
Low‑E Coating
A microscopically thin metal oxide coating reflects heat back to its source. In winter, it keeps warmth inside; in summer, it reflects solar heat away – all while letting light pass through.
Argon Gas Fill
The sealed cavity is filled with argon gas, which is denser than air and provides superior thermal insulation. This contributes to the exceptional U-value of under 1.0 W/m²K.
See the Difference for Yourself
A microscopically thin metal oxide coating reflects heat back to its source. In winter, it keeps warmth inside; in summer, it reflects solar heat away – all while letting light pass through.
Heat reflection: The left side of the tunnel (standard glass) allows significant heat through, while the right side (NGG) remains cool to the touch – a visible demonstration of 86% solar reflection.
This isn’t a simulation – it’s real proof of the technology that makes New Generation Glass the most advanced choice for your extension.

New Generation Glass FAQs
Common questions about our temperature-controlled glass technology.
NGG uses a specially developed Low-E coating and argon gas filling to reflect heat back to its source. It reflects up to 86% of the sun’s rays in summer to prevent overheating, and retains interior warmth in winter with a U-value under 1.0 W/m²K.
Yes. A specialist polymeric resin treatment can be applied to the exterior surfaces. This creates a non-stick, low-maintenance surface that stays cleaner for longer and resists staining. Rainwater sheets off, carrying dirt with it.
Yes, it blocks virtually all harmful UV rays (over 99%), protecting both your family and soft furnishings from fading and damage over time.
Depending on the specific configuration selected by our designers, the U-value can be under 1.0 W/m²K, providing exceptional thermal insulation – far better than standard glazing.
Yes, New Generation Glass is available as an upgrade for all Clc Home glass extensions, orangeries, and conservatories. Speak to one of our designers about including it in your project.
